Jane Keller Davis, 93, of Elizabethtown died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown.She was a born in Toledo, Ohio, on Oct. 9, 1921. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Fraternity. She graduated from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio and became an Army Nurse serving as a second lieutenant during World War II at Wakeman General Hospital, Camp Atterbury, Indiana. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities; one in particular was administrative board chairperson. She also served at the district and conference levels of Louisville Conference, UMC. She was the first private duty nurse at Hardin Memorial Hospital where she worked for 13 years and was medical coordinator for the Red Cross Blood Program. She also was past president of the Elizabethtown Women's Club, charter member of HMH Auxiliary; she served on the Helmwood Village Advisory Board and several other civic committees. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.Y. "Bud" Davis III; her parents, G. Kenneth and Mildred Bumgardner Keller; a brother, G. Kenneth Keller Jr; a sister, Marjorie Keller Winger; and a son-in-law, James R. Gregory Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Davis Gregory and a son, H.Y. "Spike" (Becky) Davis IV, all of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Christen (Kelley) Davis, Chip (Tiffany) Davis, Jas (Elicia) Gregory, Jeff (Melissa) Gregory and Katie (Brian) Peace; and 13 great-grandchildren, Jey Gregory, Ryder Gregory, Harper Gregory, Emerson Gregory, Molly Gregory, Lucy Gregory, Kayla Peace, Nash Peace, Connor Peace, Tristen Davis, Teagen Davis, Brylee Davis and Lexi Davis. The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Jim Robinson officiating. Burial follows in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday and continues until time of the service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Memorial United Methodist Church.
