Jane E. Johnson, 89, of Bedford Hills, NY, formerly of Shrub Oak, NY, died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Somers Manor Nursing Home, Somers. Mrs. Johnson was born in Peekskill, NY on Jan 26, 1918 to Harold and Mabel (Lent) Stottlar. Her mother, Mabel passed away on August 14, 1996 at the age of 97. She was a descendant of Abraham de Ryck who emigrated to New Amsterdam (New York) in 1637. She was raised on a farm in Shrub Oak and following her marriage to Joseph Horan, they moved to the Bronx where she raised her family and was a parishioner of St. Brendan's Church. She was active in the church community. Joseph Horan died in 1965. She later retired to Bedford Hills with her second husband, William Johnson. He died in 1995. She was known for her good sense of humor and her generosity to her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Joseph Horan of Clinton Corners, NY and the late Patricia Adinolfi, Lorraine and Thomas Horan And she is the sister of Shirley Parker, Verna Carter and Virginia Gilbert Also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Clark Associates Funeral Home on Thurs at 9:00 am.A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary's RC Church, Katonah, NY on Thursday at 10:00 am.Burial will be follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
