Obituary of Jane-D. Miller


Jane D. Miller Indian Rocks Beach Jane D. Miller, a 40 year resident of Indian Rocks Beach, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Indian Oaks Manor after a long illness. She was born on April 28, 1921 in Winnetka, IL and attended schools there. Her great grandfather, Frederick William Ruecheim was the founder of Cracker Jack where it was first mass produced and sold at Chicago's World Fair in 1893. She and her mother moved to Hammond, IN where she met and married her husband of 58 years, Ervin F. "Bing" Miller. They moved to Munster, IN, then to Indian Rocks Beach in 1964. She was an avid orchid grower and loved fishing and feeding the pelicans and herons. She was catholic. She attended Church of the Isles regularly. She is survived by two daughters: Joyce M. Kenady, Largo and Sharon A. (Robert) Lamott, Dyer, IN; brother, Jack (Sara) Dietrich, Schererville, IN; sisters in law, Mary (the late Jack) Dermody and Marge (Ed) Pelc; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years (Ervin) "Bing: and brothers, Duncan and Richard. A memorial service was held in Largo, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or donors@stjude.org.
