COOPER, Jane D. - Died peacefully in Toronto on December 26th, 2008, surrounded by family. Jane Bradley Dochstader was born March 6, 1932, to the late John and Ruth Dochstader. Jane was predeceased by her brother John and sister Gail and will be missed by her sister Wendy. She was loved very dearly by her husband of 27 years, the late John Weeks Hardie. Together they had three children who will miss her profoundly: John Hardie (Sabine), Martha-Lynn Astle (Tom) and Brian Hardie (Nancy). 'Nan' will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Blair, Mitchell and Michael Astle and Devon and Mackenzie Hardie. Jane is survived by her sweet and loving husband of 18 years, North Cooper. A graduate of the Wellesley School of Nursing, Jane was a surgical nurse for many years until diving into real estate at Martin and Meredith where she was a top agent. Jane has left cherished memories with her many friends. She had passions for travel, the arts, interior design and as a true gourmet, entertaining. Jane's family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Sunrise of Aurora for the love and dignity they showed her in her final years. A celebration of Jane's life will be held at CHRIST CHURCH DEER PARK, 1570 Yonge Street (NW corner of Yonge and Heath) on Wednesday, December 31st at 11 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
