James Clay Williams, 55, of 39 Riverwood Circle, died Dec. 11, 2003, at his home.Born in Gastonia, N.C., Jim was a Vietnam veteran and had been awarded two Purple Hearts. He worked as an inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and did volunteer work at the Cancer Center.He is survived by his wife, Aloma Culpepper Williams, of the home; sons, James Clay Williams Jr., and his wife, Felecia, and Marty Ray Williams, of Clinton, N.C.; stepson, Jimmie Lee McCollum Jr., and his wife, Michelle; and threegrandchildren, of Belton; a stepdaughter, Dowana Walshaw, of England; and a brother, David Ray Williams, of Chandler, N.C.Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Westville Funerals and Cremations, 6010 White Horse Road.Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home, following the memorial service.Memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 414 Pettigru St., Greenville, SC 29601.Special thanks to St. Francis Hospice and caregiver Maxene Bishop.
