Obituary of James-W. Barton


James W. "Jim" Barton, 68, of Louisville, died Friday, November 21, 2003, in the Hospice Unit at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington, KY. He was a sales and service representative for Checker Motors Corporation and a retired owner/ operator of Covington Yellow Cab. He was a graduate of General Motors Institute in Flint, MI, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Mason #46 in Painesville, OH, Scottish Rite, Kosair Temple in Louisville, Grand Lodge #28 in Painesville, Checker Car Club of America and St. James Episcopal Church in Painesville. Survivors include his wife, Jeannine (McMichael) Barton; daughters, Karen Wehage of Erlanger, KY, and Jennifer Olt of Villa Hills, KY; his mother, Katherine Barton of Erlanger; and four grandchildren. His funeral will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2003, at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, with entombment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2003. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, KY 41014.
