<br> -->James V. "J.V." Carter LYMAN, SC-- James V. "J.V." Carter, 81, of Lyman died on September 11, 2007, at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare. A native of Jonesville, VA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Alpha Lewis Hall and the husband of Daisy Carter of the home. He was a member of Lyman United Methodist Church, Past Master of Irving Southworth Masonic Lodge, Worthy Patron of Lyman Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and KCCH of Spartanburg Scottish Rite. He was retired from McLean Trucking Company. He was a U.S. WWII veteran having served in the Navy and the Air Force. Mr. Carter was the last survivor of his immediate family. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joella Carter. Funeral services will be held at Lyman United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Jay Hatchell. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites. The Senior Group of Lyman United Methodist, members of Scottish Rite and Irving Southworth Lodge will serve as honorary escorts. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Wood Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lyman United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
