Obituary of James Todd


Mr. James W. Todd, age 82, formerly of 19-A Pine Croft Place, Taylors, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, in the Magnolia Place Nursing Home of Greenville.Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late James Oscar Todd and Elizabeth Cheeks Todd; a former United Iron and Medical and a US Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Ray Todd of the home; three daughters, Brenda Pinson of Laurens, Jessie Alston of Baltimore, Md., Robin Hazelwood of Taylors; four sons, Sylvester Todd of Woodruff, Larry Todd of Simpsonville, Stevie Todd of Maryland, Patrick Todd of Anderson; two sisters, Mary Louise Robinson of Laurens, Maggie Bell Todd of Baltimore, Md.; twenty-three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m., at the Beaverdam Baptist Church, with Rev. J.C. Gasques, Rev. David Kennedy and Rev. James Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Memorial Park, Laurens. Visitation will be Monday from 7 until 8 p.m. at the Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens.The family is at the home of a sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Louise Robinson and Mr. Lumas Robinson, 111 Truman Street, Laurens.
