James-Todd McMillan, born in 1954, son of Paul and Marian, father of Lauren, Pursell, Ky, Erin, Michaela and Ian, died. Please consult the obituary here:
OKEECHOBEE-James Todd McMillan ended this life and joined his father Paul and his family and friends in heaven on November 20, 2014, at the Hamrick House Hospice in Okeechobee, after a courageous struggle with cancer. Todd was born in Long Beach, Calif., on February 12, 1954, the son of Marian J. (Jensen) McMillan and Paul J. McMillan. Todd graduated from LeSueur High School in LeSueur, Minn., in 1972, and then from Minnesota Southeast Technical College in Winona, Minn. He worked for Lear Jet and then spent three years in Saudi Arabia working with McDonald Douglas. After returning to America he worked with Braniff Airlines in Arlington, Texas. Todd spent his last two decades happily and joyously doing what he loved -- "turning wrench" - at Lamar Auto Tech in Okeechobee. It was Okeechobee that he called "home" and he loved the town and her people who were like family to him. Todd was a two-time cancer survivor, but the third occurrence was terminal after a year long battle. Todd was predeceased by his father Paul J. McMillan. He is survived by his mother, Marian, who is 95 years strong, of Boynton Beach; his brother Jon P. McMillan and wife Sharon N. Oja of Portsmouth, N.H.; his sister Heidi S. (McMillan) Case and husband Pastor Bruce E. Case and their four children, Lauren (Case) Pursell and her husband Pastor Zachary Pursell of Louisville, Ky.; Erin, Michaela, and Ian of Boynton Beach; and his cousins Miriam C. Weller of Albert Lea, Minn., Reed D. Waller of New Richland, Minn., Dennis McMillan and wife Irma Diaz of Lawndale, Calif., Curtis McMillan and wife Anita of Corona, Calif., Scott McMillan of Bullhead City, Ariz., Roger McMillan and wife Ruth of Esparto, Calif., Patty Clayton of Conway, Ariz., Claudet Meyers of Ridgecrest, Calif., Joanne Covert of Ridgecrest, Calif., Elizabeth Kocinski of Great Mills, Md., and Douglas McMillan of Malvern, Ark. Todd had many friends and seemed loved by everyone he touched with his smile, laugh, stubbornness, and generosity. He is looking down and laughing with us now as he is trying to call or text us to tell us about what heaven is like. His favorite quote, and he had many, was from Dewight L. Moody, "I have had more trouble with myself than with any other man I have ever met." He lived one day at a time. Todd will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends on earth. A memorial service and Celebration of Life event will be held 5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M., February 9, 2015, at the Okeechobee Presbyterian Church, 312 N. Parrot Ave. Okeechobee, Fla. 34974.
