Kelly, James ThomasDate: May 31, 1925 - March 23, 2007Age: 81Residence: Englewood, formerly of Edison, N.J.Visitation: Services: Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Englewood Chapel, is in charge of cremation arrangements.Survivors: His wife, Marian; a son, Thomas of Clementon, N.J.; and daughters Susan of Washington, D.C., Eileen Eng of Hoboken, N.J., and Jeanne Cardinale of Bridgewater, NJ.Eulogy:Mr. Kelly was born in New York City and grew up in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn until he enlisted in the Navy at age 17. For the next four years, he was stationed on the USS Bellatrix in World War II's Pacific theater. After his discharge, he graduated from Manhattan College and became a banker, working for 30 years at the New York Clearing House, where he rose to the level of vice president. In 1951, he married Marian Torpey and they had four children, moving to New Jersey to raise their family. After retiring, Jim and Marian moved to the Park Forest community in Englewood in 1989. He continued his membership in the Knights of Columbus, which he had joined in 1946, becoming among the founders of a new Englewood chapter. He is also a member of the Elks. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his loyalty to his friends, and his great sense of humor. He is also survived by his sons-in-law, George Eng and Chris Cardinale; and grandchildren Kelly, Alexander and Geneva Eng.Memorial contributions can be made to St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Building Fund, 770 Kilbourne Ave., Englewood, FL 34223.
