Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lincoln Hills Memorial Park for James S. Lee, 79, Gadsden, who died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007. The Rev. Harold Kimble will officiate. Burial in Lincoln Hills Cemetery. Respectively served by Wellman Funeral Home.Mr. Lee was a graduate of Alabama A&M University. He supported social service through his affiliation with the Masons, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and various community committees. He served his country in the United States Army where he earned the rank of corporal and was honorably discharged from service. He began his professional career as a classroom teacher and coach of the men's basketball team in Piedmont.He will be sorely missed by his daughter, Wynetta Yvette Lee; aunt, Wyneather Bouiye; nieces, Kathy Cannon, Sheila Jones (Lonnie) Jones and Felecia Waldon (Eric); nephews, Stanley Coleman, Deverett Hill, Everett Hill and Wesley McGhee (Brenda); sister-in-law, Alice R. Brown (Frank); brother-in-law, Rayfield Coleman (Laura); and a host of extended relatives and friends.Pallbearers will be nephews and cousins.Visitation will be from noon to 8 today at the funeral home.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
