James Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Tharptown Baptist Church. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Tharptown Baptist Church, with Tom Wimberley of Jonesboro Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery.Mr. Montgomery was born in Franklin County and was a graduate of Deshler High School. He retired from Bell South after 30 years of service. He also served our country from 1967-1975 as a staff sergeant in the Armys 82nd Airborne Division, where he was an expert rifleman with more than 30 jumps. Jim He was preceded in death by his father, James Lewis Montgomery.He is survived by his wife, Ann Montgomery, Muscle Shoals, Ala.; sons, Dan Montgomery and wife, Tracy, Belgreen, Ala., Ben Montgomery, Muscle Shoals, Ala., Dustin Montgomery, Muscle Shoals, Ala.; mother, Nell Montgomery, Tuscumbia, Ala.; brothers, Mike Montgomery, Florence, Ala., Donnie Montgomery, Muscle Shoals, Ala., Bobby Montgomery, Tuscumbia, Ala.; four grandchildren, Jake, Dylan, Tyler and Bryson Montgomery.Spry Chapel of Russellville is directing.
