-->James Montgomery WOODRUFF, SC-- James Clinton Montgomery, 77, of 716 South Main Street, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a brief illness. He was the son of the late LD and Lina Rice Montgomery. He was the husband of Dorothy Austin Montgomery of the home and he was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Woodruff, SC, Trustees Board, American Legion Ronald E. McNair Post # 270, Robert Small Masonic Lodge 133. He retired from Reeve's Brothers Company and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Additional survivors include two daughters, Sarah J. Austin and Linda Austin (Joe) Phelps, both of Greenville; four sisters, Alma Green of Winston-Salem, Martha White of Spartanburg, Eloise Rhodes and Betty Montgomery of Woodruff; one brother, Russell Montgomery of Woodruff; two grandchildren and one great grandson. He was predeceased by two brothers, John H. and Bennie Montgomery. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 6, 2008 at 1:30 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church, Woodruff, SC, conducted by Rev. Lawrence Meadows. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, SC. W. J. Gist Mortuary- Woodruff, SC
