JAMES MITCHELL THOM ANDERSON It is with great sadness the nieces and nephews of their beloved Uncle Jimmy, announce his passing on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Born on November 16th, 1924 at Cross Lake, Manitoba, a Hudson Bay post, he was the youngest son of the Factor Anthony Anderson and his wife Alice (nee Booth). Uncle Jimmy spent his early years between Scotland and the bush of northern Manitoba. The outbreak of the Second World War found him in Scotland and in 1942 he enlisted in the Royal Navy where he served until 1946. He returned to Canada in 1950 and after a couple of years started work at what was then called Massey Harris. Uncle Jimmy worked in the "Tractor Plant" as he called it for 30 years. During this time he travelled the world visiting every Continent, except Antarctica. Uncle Jimmy's other passion besides travel was his extensive stamp collection. Uncle Jimmy was predeceased by his two sisters Alice and Doris and his two brothers Charlie and Barney (Anthony). Uncle Jimmy spent the last six years of his life at the Meighen Retirement Residence and because of the kindness and love shown to him, it did become his home. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21st. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com
