Oxford - Funeral services for James Michael "Trey" Phillips III, 19, of Oxford, will be Friday, December 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Norris Wade, Rev. Billy Mac Quick and Rev. Mike "Paw- Paw" Phillips will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Trey passed away on December 8, 2012 in Oxford. Survivors include his parents, Michael and Tammy Phillips; grandparents, Rev. Mike and Martha Phillips; grandparents, Bobby and Brenda Morgan; great- grandmother, Sarah Reaves; brother, Shawn Wayne Robinson, brother, Jacob Tyler Phillips; sisters, Lachelle Langston Smith and husband, Matt, Jessica Morgan Phillips; aunt, Kimberly Dawn Oswalt; one uncle, Charles C Morgan, and one special cousin, Ashley Nicole Oswalt; nephew, Corey Smith and a nieces, Karleigh Smith. Pallbearers will be Shawn Robinson, Tyler Phillips, Dusty McKim, Skylar Smith, Andy Walker, Christian Mossley, Brandon Gaddy, John Lewis and Matthew Beam. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Horton, Chance Tumlin, and Books-a-Million friends and all mud-boggers. Trey was a resident of Oxford. He was a graduate of Oxford High School and an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Trey was very unique child growing up. At the age of three he started working with his Paw-Paw with American Roofing. As he reached the age of twelve he then began his own lawn business Ashley and Trey Grass Cutting Service. Trey was always showing a helping hand out to his fellow man. Trey was also known for spending time in the Books A Million parking lot witnessing to other about his love for his fellow men as Jesus Christ Love for all. Trey was always inviting his friends to come and go to church with him to see his what his Jesus was all about. Trey also had a love for hunting, fishing, mudd bogging and four wheeler riding. Trey was the appoint manager to the Oxford High School Football Team by Coach John Grass. He was employed by Legacy Cabinets. Trey was a great light and his light will continue shine.
