James Michael Davis, age 58, passed away of natural causes Sept. 13, 2009 at his home. A sheet metal worker by trade, Mike worked hard for himself and his loved ones. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and the company of his friends and family. He was a very giving man and would do anything to help a friend in need. He was passionate about the outdoors and was most happy under the sun and stars. He will be missed greatly by everyone that knew him. Mike is survived by daughters, Jessica Howard of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Jenee Rogers of Crestview, Fla.; brother, Mickey Davis and Sherry of Baker, Fla.; sister, Barbara Stewart and Ned of Crestview; seven nephews; six grandchildren, Austin, Wynn and Elizabeth Rogers, Taylor, Mallory and Addison Howard. He is also survived by his Uncle W.C. "Clyde" Echols, and his Uncle Luvon; and Aunts Binki, Fannie, Coot, and Esther Echols. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James F. and Annie Mae Davis; and brother, Samuel Steve Davis. He is also survived by many family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. A time of visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, 6 to 8 p.m., at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Saturday, Sept, 19, 2009, at 10 a.m., at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Internment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery in Brantley, Ala., at 2:30 p.m. Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
