James Marsland Miller, 81, of Nutley, N.J., died on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011. The funeral service will be at 12 noon on Wednesday at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley. The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. James was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in 1929, and was a graduate of Coughlin High school in 1948. He had lived in New Jersey since 1952 and in Nutley since 1963. James was a house painter for many years, and also a custodian at Franklin School in Nutley. He retired in 1994. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose J. (McGuiness) Miller; the loving father to Saundra Bianchi, and cherished grandfather to Brenda Foglia and her husband, Bob, Linda Lunnen and her husband, Jack, Desiree Marcus and her husband, Greg, and grandson, Robert Bianchi. He had seven great-grandchildren, Victoria, Jake, Alex and Briar Foglia, Olivia and Emily Lunnen, and Nicholas Marcus. He is also survived by sisters, Helen Jones, Gertrude Heffernan, Ruth Gobla and husband, Andy, and Marion Coolbaugh and her husband, Bill, and by his brother, Albert Miller and his wife, Lucy. He had many cherished nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by sisters, Jane C. Miller and Edna C. Stredney. He lived his life to the fullest. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
