CASEY, James M. (RCAF/CAF, CWO Ret'd) - After a lengthy illness, with his loving family at his side, on Friday, February 2nd, 2007 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Margaret Casey (nee Kennedy) for 50 years. Loving father of Sheila Day and Tim (Paget Catania). Proud grandfather of Jim, Lisa, Emily, Hannah, Ethan, Samantha, Margaret and Nathaniel. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Margaret Casey, brother Michael and sisters Marie Connelly and Joan Mercier. Survived by his in-laws Eleanor Casey of North Bay, Marguerite Kennedy of Levack, Rae and Len Hirvela and May Kennedy of Sudbury. Jim was an enthusiastic member of the RCAF/CAF, travelling the world as young man and spending many months living in the Artic. Among Jim's proudest achievements were his many hours airborne in the Mighty Lancaster. In 1981 Jim was honoured with the Order of Military Merit from the Governor General. Following his retirement in 1987 Jim turned his enthusiasm into his lawn and garden. He was a warm and loving grandfather and cherished greatly by his eight grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff on 4 North at Cummer Lodge for their loving care. Friends may call on Monday, February 5th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. KANE FUNERAL HOME, (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral services will be held at the R.S. Kane Chapel, on Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 at 1 o'clock. Cremation to follow.
