Mr. James "Jim" Lee, 74, Ozark, Mo., formerly of St. Louis, Mo., passed away Monday, February 26, 2007, at Century Pines Retirement Home, Ozark, Mo. He was born June 21, 1932, to James and Goldie (Armstrong) Lee in Kenyon, Minnesota. James was married to the love of his life, Ethel Hollars, on July 14, 1962, in St. Louis, and they were blessed with two daughters. James never let his visual impairment stand in the way of leading a very successful and meaningful life. He attended college in Minnesota and went on to be a teacher at the Missouri School for the Blind for 39 years. He was a very active member and church musician of Hope Lutheran Church in St. Louis. He was also a member of Lions Club, AARP and the United Workers for the Blind. His parents and one infant brother preceded James in death. James is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ethel; two daughters, Aundrayah Shermer and husband, Rob, of Ozark, Mo. and Cecilia Lee of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jackson, Evan, Sutton and Megan Shermer; and many cousins and other relatives. He was loved and respected by students, fellow teachers, and will be greatly missed by his many friends in both Ozark and St Louis areas. In accordance to James' wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Century Pines Retirement Home, 709 East McCracken, Ozark, Mo., Sunday, March 4, 2007, at 2 p.m. Cremation and memorial service are under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Mo.
