James Lee October 22, 1946 to June 27, 2016It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Lee. After a courageous battle with Lymphoma Jim passed away peacefully at Burnaby General Hospital on June 27, 2016.Predeceased by his father Henry, he is survived by his mother Bessie, wife Colleen and three sons Randy, Jesse and Morgen.Jim was born in Vancouver to parents Henry and Bessie Lee and has 7 siblings; Joyce, Jo-Anne, Julia (Tom), Jeff (Chris), John (Sharon), Jerome and Jeanette (Doug). Jim grew up in Strathcona and attended Strathcona Elementary School, Britannia Secondary School and Langara College.Jim was a caring Husband, Father, Son, Brother and loyal friend. He gave freely of his time and never asked for anything in return. Jim was accepting of all and he had an open door to all. Jim loved to cook and he took pride in serving lovingly prepared meals to anyone lucky enough to sit at his table. Jimmy, as he was known by his longtime friends and siblings, loved to socialize. He organized many events with his buddies from Britannia. He ran his own business and was respected and loved by his clients.Jimmy, had a passion for fishing and the outdoors. In recent years, when he was pretending to retire, he could be found at various rivers throwing his line in the water or visiting friends and family to give his catch away. Jim was so grateful for all the love and support he received from family friends, business acquaintances throughout this difficult time. The family gratefully acknowledges the doctors and nurses at VGH, BCCA and Burnaby ICU for their wonderful care. We also thank Dr. Larry Chan at Vancouver''s Integrative Naturopathic Medical Centre, A memorial service will be held on July 23 at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street Burnaby at 11:00am In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jim''s name to the BC Cancer Foundation is appreciated.
