Obituary of James-Lee Carter


James Lee Carter James Lee Carter, 85, of Vineland, went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2010, at Cooper University Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Cordeal, Ga., to the late James and Maureen Carter, he was a retired employee of the former Iron Foundry in Bridgeton. James enjoyed driving, music, especially the Blues, hunting, working, eating, and spending time with his children and friends. James leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, James "Pete" Lewis and Kenneth Hannah; four daughters, Gracie Phillips, Barbara Marshall (Narval), Anna Mary Hannah and Maureen Hannah; one sister, Gimmie Simmons; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Carter. Services will be held Monday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at the Edwards and Son Funeral Homes Inc., 208 E. Commerce St., Bridgeton, where friends may view one hour prior to services. Interment will be held at the Fordville Cemetery, Fairfield Township, immediately following the services. Services are entrusted to Edwards and Son Funeal Homes Inc., Bridgeton and Salem.
