Obituary of James-L. Wilson


WILSON, JAMES L., 82, of south Louisville passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Masonic Home. Jim was a native of Campbellsville, KY, a World War II and Korean War veteran, attended U of L, and was active in Beechmont Youth Baseball and the Iroquois Booster Club. In 1952 he joined Iroquois Presbyterian Church where he was deacon for 50 years, a trustee for 40 years, an elder for 30 years and treasurer for 45 years. He created and led a Labor Day family camp for 30 years, started a men's group and a Thanksgiving Breakfast 30 years ago that continues today. He was also a real estate broker and co-founder of Wilson's Florist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. and Fannie Wilson. Survivors include his wife, the former Anna Martha "Monnie" Caulk; sons, Robert W. (Donna) and John A. Wilson (Tamie); daughters, Martha Vozos (Nick) and Roonie Bowling (Bo); and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephew. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Iroquois Presbyterian Church, 970 Palatka Road, with burial at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation: 2 -8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd. Memorials to: his church.
