James J. McCormack of Yonkers died on Wednesday April 29, 2009 at the age of 86. He was born on November 18, 1922 to John and Margaret (Johnston) McCormack in N.Y.C. where he was raised and educated. Mr. McCormack was a member of the Mailer's Union and worked for the Daily News; Daily Mirror and Journal American; retiring in 1986. James was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Parish and a former member of their choir. He also served his country proudly during WWII in the Army Air Corps. In China and was a member of the Hump Pilots Association. Mr. McCormack was predeceased by two brothers Edward and Joseph and three sisters Mary Dolan, Catherine McCormack and Ellen McVetty. He is survived by his many loving nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home 168 Park Ave. Yonkers on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
