James J. Hartigan, 75 of Florham Park, NJ on November 23, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd., Chatham Township. Interment is in Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, N.Y. Visitation is on Tuesday, Nov. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham, N.J. James resided in Binghamton, N.Y, Virginia Beach, Va., and New Jersey. James was a 1958 graduate of Iona College, with a degree in chemistry and received his Ph.D from Fordham University. He was a research chemist with Agfa Gavaert Co., in West Caldwell, N.J. for 10 years before retirement. James was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Virginia Beach, the American Chemical Society, and a former Usher and Eucharistic Minister with St. Peter's Church in Parsippany, N.J. and St. John's Church in Virginia Beach, Va. James was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Hartigan (nee Finn). He is survived by his children, James Hartigan and his wife, Christy, Jean Manz and her husband, August, Michael Hartigan and his wife, Lisa, Eileen Ware and her husband, Michael, Laura Agnew and her husband, Chris, and Thomas Hartigan and his wife, Erin; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Rosaleen Hoeymans and brother, Andrew Hartigan. In lieu of flowers donations in James name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mid-Jersey Chapter, 28 Kennedy Blvd., Suite 180, East Brunswick, N.J. 08816.
