James H. Roy September 12, 1928 - January 6, 2013 UNCASVILLE - James H. Roy, 84, died peacefully at New London Rehab. &amp; Care of Waterford on Sunday after an extended illness. He was born in Stonington on September 12, 1928. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Edna (Hadlock) Blanchard. He graduated from Stonington High School where he was very athletic participating and excelling at many sports. He joined the Army and served his country until his Honorable Discharge. On September 3, 1955 at St. John Church in Uncasville he married his bride, Viola Deshefy who survives him. He worked at Electric Boat in many capacities retiring as a manager. Jim played golf and bowled when he was able and was a member of the Norwich Golf Club and the Seaside Beach Club of Westerly. He was active in Montville Little League creating one of the fields which became named after him. He is survived by his wife Viola, his sons; Mark J. Roy, Bruce Roy and his wife Catherine, grandchildren; Kelsie, Samantha, Amanda, and Carly, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister; Mary Hines. Visitation will be tonight from 6 P.M.-8 P.M. at the Montville Funeral Home of Church &amp; Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tpke, Uncasville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 A.M. meeting directly at St. John the Evangelist Church on Maple Ave in Uncasville. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich.
