-> Lyons - Mr. James H. "Jim" Morris age 73 of 112 Jim Burkhalter Rd. , Claxton died Tuesday morning in the Veteran's Administration Hospital of Augusta after a brief illness. A native of Montgomery County, he lived most of his life in Goose Creek, South Carolina moving to Lyons in 1978. He was a machinist, a planner and estimator with Charleston Naval Shipyard, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Jean Morris. He is survived by his wife, Betty Tomlin Morris; three sons, James R. Morris and his wife Tammy of Richmond Hill, Richard L. Morris and his wife Debbie of Claxton, and Robert W. "Bubba" Morris and his wife Dena of Gray; three sisters, Murline Willis of Cedar Crossing, Eloise Spivey of Lyons and Mattie Mae Barwick of Vidalia; three brothers, Delmas Morris of Dalton, Charles Morris of Cedar Crossi ng and Bobby Morris of Vidalia; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. James H. "Jim" Morris will be held Friday morning at 11:00 from the Firs Baptist Church of Lyons with Rev. Grady Walden and Rev. Jimmy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lyons City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00.
