Obituary of James-H. Carter


CARTER, JAMES H., 86, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at the Green Meadows Healthcare in Mt. Washington, KY. Mr. Carter was a native of Hart County, KY. He retired from Peerless Mfg. Company, with 37 years of service. He was a Baptist by faith and formerly a member of Lyons Missionary Baptist Church and Becker Drive Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Charlie Carter; and 11 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Gertrude Carter; three children, Paul Carter (fiancee Sandy), Libby Beckmann (Dwight) and Kaye (Jim) Barnsfather; grandchildren, David Beckmann, Shannon Diez (Josh), Kris Miller, Samantha Barnsfather, and Sara McKinney (Jimmy); great grandchildren, Katie Arnold, Paige Arnold, Megan Arnold, Ali Diez, Gage Diez and Ethan McKinney; stepsons Jimmy Halloway, Wayne Hill (Janie) and Rick Hill of Phoenix, AZ; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Carter. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home - 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial to follow in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, KY. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Friday.
