LEE James Gordon James Gordon Lee, of Vancouver, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the age of 47 due to a blood clot following surgery to repair a torn leg muscle. He died at home with his best friend and partner in life, Mary Macaulay, with him. He was the dearly loved son of Gordon and Evelyn Lee of Blind Bay and beloved brother of Maureen Smith (Blind Bay) and Fraser (Hong Kong). He was the proud and adoring father of Kieran and Maya and much loved uncle of Heather and Karver Smith, and of Luca Bravar and Oscar, Lachlan and Georgia Macaulay. James was a favourite of a large extended family and a great friend to many others, especially to the young who followed him around like the pied piper. James was a charming, kind, generous, enthusiastic and physical man who enjoyed his life fully, and brought his wonderful qualities to those around him. A fine athlete, cook, and lover of music of all kinds, he will be forever loved and missed. He spent his early years in Grand Prairie, Alberta on a farm, moving to Salmon Arm in his early teens where he attended high school. He graduated from the University of Victoria in 1985 with a BA in Economics, and spent most of his career in the investment business in Vancouver. In the last few years he had made a change, getting out from behind a desk and working as a builder, the physicality of which he greatly enjoyed. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at the Contemporary Art Gallery, 555 Nelson Street (at Richards), Vancouver on Monday, March 2nd, 2009 between 5 and 7 pm.
