Obituary of James-Fraser Fellows

FELLOWS, James Fraser - Fraser died peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2009 at his home in his 95th year. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances Anglin McCuaig Fellows and survived by his sister, Kuma Savage of Brighton, Ontario. Fraser was a wise and benevolent uncle to many nieces/nephews and grand- nieces/nephews from Ontario, Quebec and the United States. They will remember his dignified presence and unfailing generosity. A veteran of WWII, Fraser was a proud member of the 14 Fd Regiment R.C.A, Known to his comrades as “Swifty“, Fraser looked forward to their June reunions and attended faithfully for as long as his health permitted. Fraser loved to both play and listen to jazz music whenever possible. It brought much joy to his life and he was able to pass down that appreciation to others. He quietly loved his days looking out over Lake Ontario and Eagle Lake and enjoyed the solitude of nature. He was a natural teacher of how to do things right the first time and many are fortunate to have learned from his experiences. Family members David and Patricia McCuaig are remembered for their constant loving care as are Reg and Marilyn Smith. In his last years of failing health, he was devotedly cared for by Linda Lach to whom the family is profoundly grateful. Thank you also to Teri Loudon and Karen Chalmers. Jim and Mary Beyette were friends to both Fraser and Fran for many years and consistently demonstrated the true meaning of friendship and kindness. Services for this wonderful man will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL (1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, Reception to follow). Donations in lieu of flowers are appreciated and may be sent to St. Andrew's By the Lake United Church or the charity of your choice. 11375925
