James-F. Casey, born in 1931, spouse of Ella Louise, son of James and Martha, father of James F, Jr, Lynda and Va, died on August 3, 2004 at 72 years old.
James F. Casey, age 72, a lifelong resident of Brewster, NY, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in Carmel, NY. Mr. Casey was born November 11, 1931 in Danbury, CT to James F. and Martha (Kelly) Casey. He graduated from Brewster High School in 1948 and attended Cortland College in Cortland, NY. Mr. Casey was a Marine serving in the Korean War. Mr. Casey shared many happy years with Joan Simonetti. His former wife was Ella Louise (Barnes) Casey. Mr. Casey was a Highway Engineer for the NYS DOT operating out of Poughkeepsie, NY for many years, retiring in 1988. Following his retirement, Mr. Casey was a driver for Astor Limousine in Brewster, NY and then he worked as a starter for Vails Grove Golf Club of Brewster. He was most recently employed by Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah, NY. Mr. Casey was an avid golfer and had been a member of the Wingdale Gold Club in Wingdale, NY for many years. He was also a member of the VFW Post in Abescon, NJ. He was a strong supporter of the NY Giants and NY Yankees. Besides his companion, Joan, of Brewster, he is survived by two sons: James F. Casey, Jr. of Wingdale, NY and John C. Casey of Brewster; one daughter, Lynda Casey of Hampton, VA; one brother, Jerome Casey of Brewster; four sisters: Patricia Skidmore, Shirley Pigat and Mary Viniello, all of Brewster and Margaret Casey of Queens, NY. He adored his grandchildren: Ashley, Lauren and James F. Casey IV. He was predeceased by two sisters: Irene in 1933 and Joann Casey Marino in 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 6, 2004, at 10 am, at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Interment following at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery, Brewster, NY. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
