Athens James H. Edwards, 86, of Athens, died Friday, May 6, 2011. Mr. Edwards was the son of the late James William and Johnnie Fulcher Edwards. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Lois Tolbert Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a member of West End Baptist Church. Survivors include Linda and Ruel Parker, of Covington, Kathi Pearson of Pendleton, S.C, Greg and Melanie Edwards, of Athens; one sister, Margaret Phillips Joe, of Watkinsville; Grandchildren, J.C. Edwards, of Hull, and Lydia Parker, Adam and Carrie Parker both of Covington; Great grandchildren, Johnny, Joshua, and Daniel Parker; several nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends, Monday May 9, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Bernstein Chapel interment at Evergreen Memorial Park. Cards and verbal expressions of sympathy are welcomed in lieu of flowers.
