James Edward StewartPORT ORANGE, FLJames Edward Stewart passed away with his family at his side on Monday evening, September 16, 2013.He was born on March 12, 1936, in Utica, New York, the son of Edward and Genevieve Szablak Stewart. He was very proud to have served in the United States Air Force. He co-owned and operated Stewart Brothers Service with his brother, Elliot, for many years, in the Utica area, and then co-owned Stewart's Service with his wife, Bonnie, in the Daytona Beach/Ormond Beach, Florida, area for many more years before retirement.He was preceded in death by his brother, Elliot, and his brothers-in-law, Walt and Billy, and his dog, Chops.He is greatly missed by his wife, Bonnie; faithful dogs, Sadie and Molly; his daughter, Susan (Fred) Griffith; his grandchildren, Mac, Ali and Gus; his sister-in-law, Nikki Stewart; sister-in-law, Loretta Brady; sister-in-law, Barbra Barker; sister and brother in-law, Miriam and John Burns; and nieces and nephews, Greg, Denise, Allison, Ernie and Jennifer Stewart, Dawn and Larry Levine, Jill, Jim and Abigail Ribaudo, Chris, Tierney and John Barker, and MaryJane, Holly and Amy Burns.Since he never met a dog he didn't like, any donation can be made to the Halifax Humane Society or local Humane Societies in his honor.He was a kind and loving man who worked hard all his life for his family. He enjoyed his neighbor's company in Ponce Inlet and Port Orange, FL, especially Laurie, Joe, Jake, Joey and Baxter.Special thanks to the nurses and respiratory therapists at Halifax Hospital, Daytona and Port Orange, and to Hospice who allowed him to pass with dignity.The sound of his laughter and his memory will live forever in our hearts.
