McGill, James Edward ALBANY James Edward McGill, 78, of Boca Raton, Fla. and Albany passed away on March 3, 2014 in Hospice by the Sea. Jim is the son of the late Winifred Nolan and James Patrick McGill. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Maureen Lique McGill of Albany; his son, Timothy of Colonie and his step grandson, Andrew of North Carolina. Jim shared Maureen's daughter and son-in-law, Colleen Franklin Chesler and Terry Chesler and granddaughter, Ashley from California, whom they called dad. Jim is also survived by his cousins, the Kennedys, Currens, and Nolans. Jim was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Sherin McGill in 2000. Jim graduated from La Salle Institute in Troy and Siena. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 - 1960. Jim's career covered 39 years with the NYS Controllers Office beginning in 1953. He retired in 1992 as deputy controller. Jim was an avid NY Giants and Mets fan. He enjoyed attending the Saratoga Raceway since 1992. He leaves behind many longtime friends who have happy memories of good times shared. A Mass and burial will be held in Albany when we return in the spring.
