February 12, 2006 James E. Davis, 79, of Skaneateles, died Sunday, February 12, 2006. Born in Auburn, he had retired from Farmers & Traders Insurance Company. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Skaneateles and a former member of Tuscarora Golf Club. Surviving are his wife, Jean Ford Davis; his son, Steven J. (Kathleen) Davis of Albany; his daughter, Beth (Fran) Cichostepski of Skaneateles; his twin brother, John W. (Dorothy) Davis of Owego; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Episcopal Church. Burial in Lake View Cemetery, Skaneateles. Calling hours are Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles. Contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church or SAVES.
