Obituary of James-E. Carter

James Elmer Carter, 93, of Florence, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.Officiating will be Stan Dean. Burial will be at Tri-Cities.Visitations will be from 11 a.m. to noon at Elkins Funeral Home.Elmer is survived by his wife, Mary Edna Boyd Carter, Florence; daughters, Shirley Carter Lemay, Athens, Ala., and Jo Anne Carter Eubanks, and husband, Dan, Selmer, Tenn.; brother, Monroe Roberts and wife, Georgia, Athens, Ala.; grandchildren, Keith and Jeri Lemay, Devil's Tower, Wyo., Beth Lemay and Holly Lemay, of Athens, Ala., Dana Eubanks Welty and husband, George, Memphis, Tenn., Anna Eubanks Barber and husband, Brad, Memphis, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Grace Austin, Marian Barber and Brendan Welty, Memphis, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.Elkins Funeral Home is assisting.
