Decatur<!--Decatur-->James Denton “Denny” Goodwin, 63, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007. He was a native of Trenton, Ga., and was a 1961 graduate of Dade County High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was self-employed as the Paint Doctor in the automotive industry. He was a member of Somerville Baptist Church. Denny was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Reeves Goodwin; parents, James “Red” and Edna Steele Goodwin; and sister, Jane Goodwin Calhoun. Survivors include his wife, Maria Rapali Goodwin; son, Mark (Jennifer) Goodwin, Hattiesburg, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Lisa (Scott) Johnson and Rebecca (Jeff) Horn; two sisters, Sarah (Herman) Bailey and Annice Goodwin, Trenton, Ga.; brother, Millard (Dorinda) Goodwin, Chattanooga; six grandchildren, Joey and Joshua Goodwin, Alex, Haley and Ben Johnson and Alyse Horn; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel, Trenton, Ga., with the Rev. Shane Lewis and the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens in Trenton. Visitation will be this evening from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home (706) 657-4382.
