Obituary of James-David Adams


Munford - Funeral service for James David Adams, 64, of Munford, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Salt Creek Baptist Church in Munford with the Rev. Eddie Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Salt Creek Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service. Mr. Adams died Sunday at UAB. Survivors include sons, Jason Adams and wife, Tristaca, of Trenton Ga. and Carey Adams, Cheryl Adams, of Oxford; grandchildren, Joshua Adams, Taylor Adams, and Isaiah Adams; brothers and sisters, Linda Gunnoe, Brenda Adams, Gloria Martin, Diana Dean, Keith Adams, and Stewart Adams. Mr. Adams is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Adams; parents James and Cora Adams; and sister, Shirley Rose. Mr. Adams was of the Baptist Faith and a former pastor of Jennifer Baptist Church in Munford and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Pell City. He was a graduate of Munford High School and Ayers State Technical College. He served in the U.S. Army from 67-69 and was in Vietnam War with the Big Red One as military police. Mr. Adams was an accomplished businessman and contractor. He was a loving father and grandfather and will forever be in our heart. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
