James Cowley, 69, of Jupiter died Friday, May 16 in Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived in Jupiter for 23 years, moving from Sayville, N.Y. Prior to retirement, he was a New York City firefighter for 20 years. He was a veteran of the Army. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Cowley of Jupiter; two sons, James R. Cowley and Peter J. Cowley and wife Rhonda, all of Jupiter; a daughter, Kathleen M. Cowley and husband Jason Swinderman of Orlando; and four grandchildren. A Memorial Mass was celebrated Tuesday, May 20 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jupiter. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association Memorial & Honor Program, P.O.
