Obituary of James Collett


Mr. James Edwin Collett, 61, of 9 Hackberry St., Simpsonville, S.C., died Tuesday (December 19, 2006) at his residence.Mr Collett was born December 31, 1944, in Roane County, Tenn., to Ethel Hall Collett of Rockwood, Tenn., and the late James Joe Collett. He was educated in the Roane County, Tenn., schools. He was a machinist for Lockheed-Martin Corp., Greenville, S.C. He was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple.He was an avid fisherman and golfer, and enjoyed NASCAR and the Tennessee Vols football team.Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Spencer Collett of Simpsonville; daughters, Jessica Collett of Simpsonville, Angela Collett of Rockwood, Tenn., and Tammy Keller of Alabama; brothers, Wayne Collett, Kenneth Collett and Calvin Collett of Elyria, Ohio, and Kerry Collett of Rockwood, Tenn.; sisters, Lisa Rutherford and Kathy Smith of Rockwood, Tenn.; and grandson, Bryant.Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood, Tenn., by Rev. Charles Kelley. Military honors will be conducted by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. A visitation was held Friday (December 22, 2006) at Cannon Funeral Home, Fountain Inn, S.C.Cannon Funeral Home of Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
