Jacksonville - Funeral service for Mr. James Clyde "Bigun" Johnson, 89, will be Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Angel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Stan Broom officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 6-8 p.m. this evening. Mr. Johnson is survived by one son, Eddie Johnson and his wife, Shelia, of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Chris (April) Johnson, of Jacksonville, Dawn (Mark) Sanders, of Pelham, and Derek (Tammy) Johnson, of Oxford; six great-grandchildren, Brooke Johnson, Brianna Johnson, Dylan Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Andruw Sanders and Sarah Grace Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jeff Angel, Gary Angel, Jim Heathcock, Wendell Wilson, Johnny Reed Bryant, and Billy Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall Prickett, Grover Prickett, Lloyd Garner, Alvin Stephenson, Jim Hyde, Bill Melton, and Orville Johnson. Mr. Johnson was an Army veteran and served in Europe during World War II. He retired from M & H Valve and was a member of Angel Grove Baptist Church for 82 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Margaret Johnson.
