Carol Williams GREER, SC-- James Carol Williams, 67, of 120 Sizemore Street, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Greer Memorial Hospital. A native of Greenville County, son of the late Ernest A. and Catherine Posey Williams, he served in the U.S. Marine Reserves, was the retired owner/operator of Williams Tire Co., and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Shelby Pearson Williams of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Buddy Satterfield of Greer; a son, Dallas Williams of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Marion Williams of Inman, SC, and Ernie Williams of Boiling Springs, SC; and two grandchildren, Jake and Cody Satterfield. Mr. Williams was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Williams and a sister, Margaret Williams Atkin. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Fairview Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Steve Patton and Dr. James Crocker. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Fairview Baptist Church. The family is at the home of his daughter, Angela Satterfield, 755 Cool Creek Drive, Greer. Memorials may be made to the Charles Lea Center Foundation, 195 Burdette Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Online condolences may be at www.thewoodmortuary.com.
