Obituary of James-C. Macmillan


MACMILLAN, James C. - Died peacefully at home on May 31, 2009. James (Jim) was born in Campbellton, N.B. on July, 21, 1919. Jim is survived by his sisters Allie (Howard) of Toronto, and Maxine (White) and by his brother Alexander (Sandy), both of Tide Head, N.B. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Sandra (Murray), John, Jean (Graham), Gerald, Phyllis, Sherry, Maxine, Jeannie Howard and Susan White. Jim served with the Royal Rifles of Canada in Hong Kong and was interned in Hong Kong and later in Japan. On his return to Canada, he attended Queens University and on graduation joined Canada Packers. He was Secretary of the Hong Kong Veterans Association of Ontario. The family will receive friends and neighbours on Tuesday, June 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Simple Alternative, 275 Lesmill Road, Toronto, 416-441-1580. Interment and grave site service will take place later at the family plot in Campbellton, N.B. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
