BURNSIDE James C. James C. (Jim) Burnside, originally from Niskayuna, died in Florida on September 11, 2011. He was 54. He moved to attend the University of Miami after graduating from Niskayuna H.S. He began a career in the travel industry at Alamo as senior director of revenue and went on to work in revenue and itinerary planning at SilverSea, Renaissance and Norwegian Cruise Lines. He held a doctorate in business administration and had recently worked as a hospitality industry consultant. "Jim will be greatly missed by everyone who had the sincere pleasure to know and work with him", said a long-time co-worker. "He was so bright and well-respected in the industry, and one of the nicest guys you's ever meet." He was dearly loved and is greatly missed by his mother, Elizabeth; his sisters, Judy and Gretchen; and his brother, Ben, and their families.
