BREMNER, James Manson September 21, 1913 - March 23, 2003 James Manson Bremner passed away quietly on March 23rd. He was predeceased by his wife Helen in 1982, and by his five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his son Thomas and daughter-in-law Christine; special friends Jeff and Caroline Schoonmaker, Jack and Jean Brough, Rick and Joan Kampjes and his steady visitor John Munnikhuis. Jim was born in Wick, Scotland. He worked for Swift Canadian Company from 1935 until he retired in 1978. He served overseas with the Toronto Scottish Regiment during the Second World War. Jim's true passion was the Masonic Order. He was initiated into Freemasonry in 1946. He was a Past Grand Persuivant, Grand Lodge of Alberta; Past Grand First Principal, Past Provincial Prior, Past Grand Master of the Cryptic Rite, Past Grand Governor (Alberta) of the York Rite College, among many offices. Jim was a member of the Chancellor's Circle of Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario, as a benefactor of the University. Visitation on Tuesday evening 5 pm to 8 pm at Foster & McGarvey (10008 - 103 St.); funeral services Wednesday, March 26, at 3 p.m. at Highlands United Church, 11305 - 64 Street, Edmonton, Rev. John Burrill officiating. Interment in Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Masonic Higher Education Bursary Fund or charity of your choice.
