Obituary of James-A. Kelly


ANDOVER - James A. Kelly, 78, of Andover, a Lowell native who was World War II veteran and active in many community organizations died Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. He was the husband of Nancy (Darling) Kelly.He was born in Lowell on Aug. 30, 1924, son of the late James A. and Elizabeth (Buzzell) Kelly. He had also been a former resident in Florida in Boca Raton and Boynton Beach.Mr. Kelly was a disabled Army veteran of World War II.Prior to retirement, he was employed in automobile and real estate sales in the Lowell area.He was a member of Amputee Association of America and the U.S. Golf Association. He was a former member of the Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro, where he played in many city tournaments. He was very active in the Lowell Youth Athletic Programs. He was also a member of William North Masonic Lodge, AF and AM, and was a Shriner involved in many of their blood programs.Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Santos and her husband Arthur of Andover, Elizabeth Oblachinski and her husband Robert of Temecula, Calif.; a son, Peter Kelly of Pompano Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Santos, Rachael, Molly, and Hannah Oblachinski.
