NORTH VASSALBORO -- James A. Casey, 82, of North Vassalboro, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Oak Grove Center in Waterville. He was born in Lawrence, Mass., on Oct. 10, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and Anne (Creighton) Casey. James was a graduate of Bentley School of Accounting in Boston. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Lawrence, Mass., where he was employed as a bartender for many years until his retirement in 1995. Locally, he was a member of Corpus Christi Parish in Waterville.Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Rita Fitzmaurice and Mary Planitzer, and his brothers, John and Joseph. James will be sadly missed by his sister, Kathleen Casey, of North Vassalboro; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many nurses and caregivers at Oak Grove Center and HealthReach Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Notre Dame Church, 116 Silver St., Waterville.
