Jacqueline Smith, born in 1934, spouse of Led Smith, daughter of John and Marie-Josette-Barthelmy, died on June 25, 2011 at 77 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Jacqueline (Walker) Smith, 77, died after a brief illness on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Jac was born in Chelsea to the late John Marquand and Marie Josette Barthelmy Walker. She was an accomplished woman who lived on Beacon Hill during her youth, attended Concord Academy where she formed lifelong friendships, and then continued her education at Boston schools. She met and married her soul mate, A. Ledyard Smith Jr., in 1955 and went on to settle and raise her family in Bolton. She has held several positions in the town of Bolton including Assistant Town Clerk, School Secretary, and has served on the Town Zoning Board of Appeals. She partnered with a dear friend to run her own rare books company, BTS Worldwide, and had a lifelong fascination with Genealogy. Jac is survived by her husband Led, five children; Katharine Fairfield, Margaret Smith, A. Ledyard Smith III, Robert Eliot Smith, Jacqueline Josette Walker Rezac and 7 beloved grandchildren. Jac truly cherished the relationships in her life. She tended her friends and family as she tended her beautiful gardens, with love, patience, appreciation, and constant encouragement. We will all miss her advice, her pearls of wisdom, her classiness, her wicked, wicked sense of humor and her quiet strength. We treasure these things about her as we treasure the love she gave us that we all keep with us still. Jac is so knitted into the fabric of all of our lives that we all feel her passing deeply. Jac's wishes were for a small private funeral service for family and an old fashioned Smith summer party to be held at the house for her Memorial. Please join us at the Smith residence on August 20, 2011 at 2 PM not to mourn her death, but to celebrate her life! Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jacqueline Smith to: Bolton Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 382, Bolton, MA 01740. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Online condolences may be placed at www.philbincomeaufh.com.
