Obituary of Jacqueline-S. Davis


PORTSMOUTH - Jacqueline S. "Jackie" Davis, 71, of Portsmouth, died Oct. 15, 2012, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Manchester on Dec. 22, 1940, she was the daughter of Edwin W. and Marguerite Y. (Ferland) Wike. She attended St. Joseph's High School in Manchester, Class of 1958. She graduated from Manchester Adult Education Program in 1985. Jackie attended college at New Hampshire College in Portsmouth, earning various certificates. Jackie had worked at the Girl's Club and in retail in the Manchester area for 30 years. Prior to her retirement in 2002, she enjoyed 16 years working as church administrator at the North Congregational Church in Portsmouth. She was a member of the North Congregational Church and for many years volunteered with the Youth Group. She served on the St. Augustine's School Board in Manchester and the Ad Hoc Committee for the Manchester Diocese. Jackie was also very active for many years on the board of the United Church of Christ in Concord. Jackie was predeceased by, her husband, Harold S. Davis, whom she married on April 8, 1961. They enjoyed 24 years of marriage, until his passing in 1985. Survivors include her son, James B. Davis of Somersworth; daughter, Pamela A. Ingalls of Candia; grandchildren Alexander Seebaugh of Berwick, Maine, Hannah Davis of Somersworth, John Hudon Jr. of Hooksett, Michael Hudon of Dover, Jeffrey Ingalls of Concord and Amanda Ingalls of Hooksett; two great-grandsons, Matthew and Jacob Hudon of Hooksett and one great-granddaughter, Tammy Ingalls of Concord; daughter-in-law Rhonda Davis of Somersworth, son-in-law Roland Ingalls of Springfield, Mo., and her sister-in-law, Margaret Jackson and husband, Kenneth of Hooksett; as well as many nieces and nephews. . SERVICES: There will be no visiting hours. Family flowers only. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the North Congregational Church Chapel, 355 Spinney Road, Portsmouth. Friends are invited. Memorial contributions may be made to North Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 355 Spinney Road, Portsmouth 03801 or Seacoast Dialysis, 155 Borthwick Ave., Portsmouth 03801.
