SSgt. Jack K. Davis SPARTANBURG, SC-- Jack Davis, 81, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 24, 1930, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Floyd Eugene and Suelene Prather Davis. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the U. S. Marines and U. S. Air Force. He served 10 years in the U. S. Marines and received the Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He also served 10 years in the Air Force receiving the Good Conduct Air Force Service Medal and LSA two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. Jack also retired with Life of Georgia Insurance and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his beloved wife Fredree Wharton Price Davis; daughters, Linda Fortenberry of Spartanburg and Jackie Garrett of Easley; sons, Kenneth W. Davis of Inman and Keith Allen Davis of Campobello; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jimmy Davis of Reidville and Gene Davis of Simpsonville. He was predeceased by grandchildren, Dana Robert Harrison and Kenneth Thomas Harrison Jr. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22, 2011, in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev.
