He was born January 6, 1930 in Charleston, West Virginia the son of Jack and Lillian (West) Short. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Jo Davis, daughter Shelley Jo Davis, brother, Richard (Sally) Davis, granddaughter, Sabrina (Carlos) Lugo, and 4 great grandchildren, Nadia, Elena, Oscar, and Sergio. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack's loving memory may be made to the Sarasota Humane Society.
